dogwool

The portraits in the Dogwool series are united by the unconditional love these owners have for their dogs. They love their pets so much that they wear them as knitwear. From these dog breeds with thick, fluffy, insulating undercoats, brush stroke by brush stroke, this unique fur is patiently collected and stored. After a few years, the precious harvest is finally sent to Doumé Jalat-Dehen, who spins the hair traditionally on a spinning wheel. It is returned to the sender in the form of 50-gram balls as soft as angora. The dog hair yarn is knitted with large needles.
